Breaker & Shear

One primary circuit configured for one-way or two-way work.

HKX Breaker & Shear combination kits allow a compatible excavator auxiliary circuit to operate in single-acting or double-acting mode. That flexibility helps equipment teams use a wider range of attachments without treating every tool as a separate plumbing project.

The published combination configuration is sized at 80 percent of one pump at approximately 25 feet per second, uses 5,000 PSI-rated hoses, and is upgradeable. Electronic function selection and machine-monitor integration may be used where applicable.

Attachment Applications

Switch between compatible breaker and shear-style attachments.

The combination circuit supports attachments requiring one primary circuit within the published pressure and flow basis, subject to machine and tool verification.

Breaker Mode

Configure the primary circuit for compatible single-acting breakers and similar one-way tools.

Shear Mode

Switch to double-acting operation for compatible shears, grapples, and open/close tools.

Function Selection

Use an applicable control strategy to select the required circuit behavior.

Fleet Flexibility

Prepare one excavator for a broader compatible attachment mix.

Application & Installation Planning

Match the system to the excavator and attachment.

Accurate machine and attachment details help HKX identify the appropriate circuit, components, controls, routing, and installation support.

  1. 01
    Identify the excavator

Provide the manufacturer, model, serial number, current hydraulic equipment, and any relevant machine options.

  2. 02
    Define the attachment

Confirm the attachment make and model, required functions, flow, pressure, case drain, and connection requirements.

  3. 03
    Select controls and routing

Review operator controls, oil sources, component placement, boom and arm routing, and service-access needs.

  4. 04
    Prepare and support the installation

Use the packaged components and instructions, with HKX technical assistance available for installation and future parts identification.
